Spruced-Up Gateways Could Mark City Entrances

The Planning Commission will review the idea at Monday's meeting.

Architects, artists, landscape architects, design students, urban and other design professionals have been invited to create a palette of gateway designs to mark the City’s entrances, the Planning Commission has announced.

“Each participant or team of participants will be required to submit, at minimum, a design for one primary and one secondary gateway,” the Planning Commission said in its meetings agenda. “The design competition will be conducted 'in the blind' with applicants submitting CDs of their proposed gateway ideas. Each participant is required to submit, at minimum, a design for one primary and one secondary gateway.”

The Commission will make further decisions regarding the gateways at their upcoming May 2 meeting.
