How Some Businesses Celebrate the Olympics

Diddam's decorated its windows with an Olympic theme. A repair shop proudly displays an American flag.

Walk into most businesses with a television in San Carlos these days and you're likely to see some Olympic sport or another no matter the time of day.

Walk along the streets and there isn't much in the outward display of the Olympic spirit.

There are a few who proudly display something American, something Olympic or even some things international.

Live action continues Thursday with medal games that involves the United States.

You can catch some women's wrestling action on NBC Sports Network at 7 a.m., following the bronze medal women's soccer match between France and Canada.

That will be followed by Tae Kwon Do and then women's basketball.

Men's field hockey will be televised by MSNBC beginning at 8 a.m., while Canoe/Kayak, Rhythmic Gymnastics and Synchronized swimming are on NBC Channel 11.

The gold medal women's soccer match between the United States and Japan, a rematch of last year's World Cup final in which Japan won in a shootout, will be carried live on NBC Sports Network at 11:15 a.m.

Cal grad Alex Morgan has become a big star for the Americans, while Stanford grads Rachel Buehler and Kelley O'Hara help defend.

The United States women's water polo team will also be going for gold live at noon on NBA Channel 11.

Maggie Steffens, who will be a freshman at Stanford in the fall, has scored 16 goals in the tournament. Stanford grad Brenda Villa and Cal grad Heather Petri are the two oldest players on the team and hope to retire with the gold medal.

Americans Melissa Seidemann and Annika Dries will also be playing at Stanford next year, while Cardinal grad Jessica Steffens will be around rooting for her younger sister.
