Man Arrested in Connection to Series of San Carlos Area Burglaries

San Mateo County sheriff’s deputies have arrested a man in connection with a series of home burglaries in San Carlos and an unincorporated part of the county.

According to the sheriff’s office, Neil Lundy III, 26, of San Carlos, was arrested around 1 p.m. Tuesday near the corner of Laurel Street and San Carlos Avenue in San Carlos.

Lundy was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City on suspicion of burglarizing three homes in November, sheriff’s officials said. Two of the burglaries occurred in San Carlos with the third in the unincorporated area of Emerald Lakes.

Investigators said Lundy and other unidentified suspects kicked in the doors or smashed windows to enter the homes before taking jewelry, small electronics, tools and other equipment.

According to the sheriff’s office, there has been a significant increase in residential burglaries in San Carlos and the unincorporated Emerald Lakes and Palomar Park areas in the past few months.
