Peninsula Man Arrested, Accused Of Robbery, Identity Theft, Fraud

The Daly City man gained entry through a rear garage door at the victim's San Carlos home and threatened her when she confronted him: SMC.

SAN CARLOS, CA — A 38-year-old Daly City man was arrested on suspicion of robbery, burglary, credit card fraud and identity theft, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Department reported Friday.

The authorities indicated that last Tuesday at 9:48 a.m. deputies responded a residential burglary on the 1000 block of McCue Avenue in San Carlos that had occurred within the last hour.

The suspect later identified as Mark Puzon forced entry into the victim's residence through a rear garage door. Once inside, the suspect stole various personal items from the victim. The victim returned home and saw an unknown male suspect walking out of her driveway carrying some of her property. The victim told deputies she confronted the suspect, who threatened to harm her. The man fled the area and was last seen near San Carlos Avenue.

According to the sheriff's report, the victim’s stolen credit cards were used an hour later at
multiple businesses in San Bruno. Surveillance video was obtained from these businesses, showing the suspect using the victim’s stolen credit cards.

Puzon was identified by a former acquaintance who saw him in the area. He was arrested and accused of multiple charges that include identity theft, fraudulent use of an access card and commercial burglary.

Puzon's alleged involvement in the residential burglary and robbery is still under investigation. He was booked into the San Mateo County Maguire Correctional Facility.
