Public Enemy #1...Dog Poop
Readers write in to San Carlos Patch about dog poop on a school campus. But how has it affected you?

Early Thursday morning, a concerned reader wrote into San Carlos Patch to talk about an issue that affects all San Carlans: dog poop.
Dog poop in parks, dog poop on school grounds, dog poop on the playground.
In this particular instance, the reader said she was having an issue with dog poop on the school campus of White Oaks school, even sending along the municipal code, which reads:

“No owner or possessor of any animal shall cause or permit it to do any of the following: To permit a dog or cat to discharge such animal’s excreta on any public or private property other than the property of the owner of any dog or cat if such owner, keeper or walker does not immediately thereafter remove and clean up such animal excreta from the public or private property. Visually disabled persons are exempt from the provisions of this subsection.”
Dog poop is serious business, folks, and if you’re caught not cleaning it up by a Deputy, it could also result in a misdemeanor.

“I happen to be at school when Deputy Adam Reininger arrived yesterday morning to talk to Mrs. Veal about the poop issue,” the concerned reader told Patch. “I shared with him the info and locations of most recent offenses. He is looking into the city providing permanent signage stating the rule to pick up after your pet. We have previously had kids make signs and post along Cedar-they were shirt lived-torn down by people. He has asked me to keep a tally sheet of poop left behind on and around campus. Today, we were poop free, but I expect there to be more.”
