Revisiting The Retreat: Six-Months Later

 On February 18, 2011, the city council and staff met for their strategic retreat, where they implemented goals to achieve within six-months. Of the 35 goals listed, the city says they have completed 31 of them. The five remaining are:

- Investigate other opportunities for offering retirement and benefits and report on the status of the investigations to the City Council.

- Present to the City Council the City’s unfunded liabilities and recommend to the City Council for consideration strategies to address the City’s financial obligations to our past and present employees.

- Invite at least three community organizations to participate in the current project to identify barriers to City services and programs for people with disabilities

- Present to the City Council for consideration a comprehensive strategy to preserve and enhance the historic downtown district.
