San Carlos Caltrain Parking Lot Closing Permanently

The north lot is being closed in order to be redeveloped as part of the San Carlos Transit Village, officials say.

SAN CARLOS, CA – The parking lot on the north side of the San Carlos Caltrain Station will be permanently closed as of Tuesday, July 18, at 2 a.m. Caltrain riders are encouraged to park at the newly completed south lot located at El Camino Real and Cherry Avenue.

The north lot has been closed in order to be redeveloped as part of the San Carlos Transit Village. Construction will begin shortly on the next phase of the project, which when completed will include 200 new apartment units. All cars must be removed from the north lot as of 4 a.m. on July 18 or vehicles will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Currently, the south lot can only be accessed via El Camino Real while heading north. Caltrain is awaiting Department of Transportation approval to install a new traffic signal and roadway improvements at the intersection of El Camino Real and Cherry Avenue to allow for left turns.
