San Carlos Little League Opens All-Star Tourney
Matt Smith pitches, hits the SC National all-star team to a 4-1 victory over Pacifica American on Friday.
Matt Smith made sure the San Carlos National Little League 12-year-old all-stars got off to the a good start. And then he made sure SCN stayed in front.
Smith hit a two-run home run in the top of the first inning and San Carlos never trailed in a 4-1 victory over Pacifica American on Friday at Arguello Park in a District 52 tournament opener.
Noland Peterson walked to lead off the game and scored when Smith's drive landed beyond the right field fence.

Smith was also the winning pitcher, striking out 10.
SC National plays again Sunday, meeting Palo Alto National at 2 p.m. at Highlands Park North.

The San Carlos American all-stars play Saturday at 9 a.m. at Highlands, meeting Palo Alto American.
