San Carlos Man Missing Since Last Week: Police

SAN CARLOS — The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating a missing 33-year-old San Carlos man. Sayak Banerjee was last seen sometime during the week of April 17 by neighbors near his home in the 1100 block of Laurel Street, according to sheriff's officials.

Banerjee also spoke to his wife via cellphone on April 20. He was supposed to arrive in Orlando, Florida, on April 24 to meet his wife but sheriff's officials say there is no evidence that he ever boarded his flight. Investigators think Banerjee drove away from his home in a black 2005 Hyundai with a license plate number of 6VDS335, according to sheriff's officials.

"His disappearance is abnormal since it is not common behavior for him," sheriff's officials said today in a written statement. "At this time there is no information or evidence that suggests any foul play in his
disappearance."
