Two San Carlos Kids Snag Art Honors
Tierra Linda middle-schoolers win the opportunity to see their art work featured on SamTrans ad cards.
Two Tierra Linda middle schoolers from San Carlos walked away winners at the Art Takes a Bus Ride event Wednesday afternoon at the SamTrans building.
Fifth-grader Sakina Bambot and sixth-grader Meiling Lin, both taught by Jennifer Xavier, were among the six winners whose artwork will be featured on ad cards inside SamTrans buses and on the outside of the SamTrans “Art Bus” - exposing their work to nearly 12,000 young people who ride SamTrans buses, more than 25 percent of the District’s total ridership.
Taking two of the six awards, San Carlos was the only city on the Peninsula to feature two victorious young artists.

Winning for their respective grade-levels, Bambot and Lin both also received a SamTrans monthly pass, a certificate and a framed copy of the bus ad card that displays their art, and an assortment of art supplies.
