Updated: Giants' Sergio Romo in Trouble with the Law

San Francisco Giants closer Sergio Romo released a statement Thursday night through the team apologizing for his arrest in Las Vegas on New Years Day. The statement read, "“I would like to sincerely apologize about the recent events at the Las Vegas airport which brought negative attention to the San Francisco Giants organization and its fans. I love and respect the Giants, my teammates and our fans and promise to conduct myself in the future in the "San Francisco Giants Way."

Romo was arrested at McCarran International Airport and cited for a violation of airport rules, Las Vegas Police Officer Marcus Martin said.
  
Romo was going through a security checkpoint at about 9 a.m. Tuesday when allegedly he became agitated with Transportation Security Administration agents, Martin said.
  
Martin said Romo was standing in an aggressive stance and had clenched fists, and didn't back down when police officers arrived.
  
"You can't be uncooperative with TSA officials or you will be taken into custody," Martin said.
  
Romo was cited and released. Romo reportedly was not carrying I.D. when he tried to enter the security screening area.
