Woman Arrested in Walgreens Robbery Attempt

Sheriff's deputies say the 26-year-old San Carlos woman handed a "demand note" to a pharmacy employee; video surveillance footage helped identify the woman.

A 26-year-old woman was arrested Sunday after attempting to rob a pharmacy in San Carlos, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

San Carlos resident Alison Catalli was identified from surveillance footage following an attempted robbery at a Walgreens store at 1414 El Camino Real.

According to sheriff's deputies, Catalli entered the Walgreens and approached the store's pharmacy window and handed "a demand note" to a pharmacy employee.

No weapons were visible during the robbery, according to deputies.

The employee advised her manager, who activated a panic alarm, deputies said.

Upon arrival at the pharmacy, deputies discovered that Catalli had fled on foot.

Sheriff's deputies reviewed the surveillance footage and identified Catalli from previous contacts. Catalli was arrested at her residence for attempted robbery  shortly after the incident occurred, deputies said.
