4 Things To Do On Labor Day In San Clemente
If you're looking for something to do on Labor Day, here are five events happening in San Clemente and nearby.
SAN CLEMENTE, CA — Happy Labor Day! a day when most people get the day off and your white pants and shoes should be stowed away until next spring.
The idea for the Labor Day holiday was created by the labor movement, according to the U.S. Department of Labor (who would have guessed?). The holiday is dedicated to the "social and economic achievements" of workers who contribute to America's strength, prosperity and well-being.
If you're looking for something to do on your first vacation day since Fourth of July, here are five things happening on Labor Day in San Clemente:

1. Explore Mission San Juan Capistrano
San Juan Capistrano invites you to get hands on at exhibits such as adobe brick making and panning for gold on Aug. 31. Guided tours of the mission are available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday to enhance your mission experience. Tour the Serra Chapel on Sept. 1, the most historically significant chapel in California. The grounds will be open Labor Day from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
2. Village Art Faire & Farmer's Market
Explore Downtown San Clemente at the Village Art Faire on Sunday. From 9 to 6, Village Art Faire will offer a beautiful selection of hand-crafted work which includes photography, fine art, jewelry, woodwork, botanical, apothecary, leather, wearable, ceramics, home decor, fused and blown glass, metal work, and much more.

At the Farmer's Market, on Avenida Del Mar from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Fresh Fruits, Vegetables, Flowers, and a host of organic products offered weekly. The Farmer's Market is hosted on Del Mar in front of the San Clemente Community Center each Sunday.
3. Sounds of Summer Concert Series at Laguna Playhouse
“We’ve Only Just Begun: Carpenters Remembered” is the definitive concert show celebrating the music of one of the most successful recording acts of all time. The Carpenters sold over a hundred million records in just over a decade and still hold the record for most consecutive top-ten singles. Accomplished vocalist Michelle Berting Brett takes center stage accompanied by her 7-piece band of Nashville musicians directed by Harry Sharpe for a behind-the-scenes portrait of the pop music phenomenon that defined an era, and you’ll sing along with hits that include “Close to You,” “Yesterday Once More,” “Rainy Days & Mondays,” and many more!
CARPENTERS: REMEMBERED will perform August 29 & Friday, August 30 at 7:30pm; Saturday, August 31 at 2 pm & 7:30 pm and Sunday, September 1 at 1 pm
4. Shop And Dine Month Begins In Lake Forest!
Shop and Dine Lake Forest Month encourages local residents and employees to support local retailers and businesses. Great food and discount promotions are available during this month from businesses citywide!
The city partners with Lake Forest businesses to offer discounts and promotions when residents and local employees shop or dine at participating restaurants, professional services, or retail shops.
Many coupons may still be active after the month-long celebration. Each coupon will have an expiration date so be aware although some deals may expire sooner than others, there are many more inside that may still be active.
