Street Fight Leads to an Arrest

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, a possible midnight car thief and a camper and its occupants overstay their welcome.

At 6:41 p.m. Sunday Oct. 20, deputies received a report about a disturbance near the cross streets of Avenida Rosa and El Camino Real. A man had pinned down an older man during a frenzied street fight. Orange County firefighters and deputies quickly arrived and arrested the 53-year-old man. He has since been released from jail.

Also:

At 1:48 a.m. Sunday Oct. 20, a concerned caller reported a suspicious person near the cross streets of West Avenida Palizada and Ola Vista. A 30-year-old man in a white shirt was checking car doors to see if they were unlocked.

At 5:46 a.m. Monday Oct. 21, someone reported a group of suspicious people in the 100 block of El Portal. The caller claimed a group of people had been living inside of a camper van parked in an empty lot for months.

These are selected reports from the San Clemente Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days. The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided.
