7-Year-Old Alerts Authorities of Mother’s Abuse

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, a drunk flees the scene, two women in a parking lot battle, and two suspicious men overstay their welcome.

At 6:25 p.m. Thursday Oct. 24, a worried neighbor told deputies about a disturbance in the 100 block of Avenida San Gabriel. The informant stated a 7-year-old girl had run into her home and asked her to call the police. The child said her mother’s boyfriend was punching her mother. Deputies arrived and arrested a 34-year-old woman. The mother has since been released from jail.

At 12:41 a.m. Wednesday Oct. 23, a concerned caller reported a drunken driver in the 900 block of El Camino Real. The informant stated a drunk man was sitting inside a gold car with the lights flashing. When deputies arrived, the man had left.

At 6:30 a.m. Wednesday Oct. 23, someone reported a disturbance in the 1200 block of Puerta Del Sol. The informant claimed two women were in a heated physical fight in a local parking lot.

At 4:58 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 23, deputies received a report about a pair of suspicious people in the 100 block of Calle Amistad. The caller stated two men in a black Honda had been parked for eight hours.

These are selected reports from the San Clemente Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days. The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided.
