1. San Clemente City Council Meeting (voiceofoc.org) — San Clemente residents can attend or watch City Council meetings, typically held the first and third Tuesdays, either in person at City Hall on Avenida Presidio or via YouTube and local cable. You can also email comments in advance or speak during public comment, with three minutes per speaker and clear instructions on how to participate.
2. San Clemente flag football edges Villa Park in quarterfinals with late TD (ocregister.com) — San Clemente High's flag football team advanced to the CIF-SS Division 2 semifinals after a last-minute touchdown and conversion edged Villa Park, 13-12. The Tritons now host Chaminade this Saturday at San Clemente High, playing for a spot in the finals and their first championship appearance since 2024.
3. Sand Replenishment Project Continues at Capo Beach to Mitigate Erosion (dredgewire.com) — Coastal protection work at Capistrano Beach is trucking in thousands of cubic yards of sand this month to shield homes, roads, and nearby Doheny from worsening erosion and upcoming king tides. County officials say this temporary fix is part of a broader push for long-term sand replenishment, with similar efforts already underway along San Clemente's vulnerable beaches.
4. 7+ Foot King Tides Expected To Batter Beleaguered Long Beach Coast (patch.com) — Recent king tides have already pushed waves over the coastal rail tracks in San Clemente, prompting Metrolink to proactively shut down service to avoid delays and cancellations. Water levels in Orange and San Diego counties are forecast to reach nearly eight feet, with some waves higher, as a distant Pacific hurricane adds extra punch to the surf.
