Art of Compassion- San Clemente Domestic Violence Task Force

San Clemente Domestic Violence Task Force Event raises funds to provide supplies for art therapy for women and children in shelters.

The San Clemente Domestic Violence Task Force hosted an evening of creative collage making called “The Art of Compassion” at the San Clemente Art Supply Store on Tuesday, July 23rd.

Women of all ages came together to produce art showing their empathy for victims of violence. Over $700 was raised during the event; proceeds will go to provide supplies for art therapy for women and children in shelters.

Dr. Patricia Drown, a member of the San Clemente Human Affairs Commission and Director of the San Clemente Domestic Violence Task Force said, “We are grateful for the response from the community. Women and children who have been abused have trouble expressing their emotions verbally. Art therapy helps them to speak and it is another step on the road to a full and happy life.”
