Baby Shark Washes Ashore, Saved By Homeless Man: SEE

It was a cloudy San Clemente morning when a homeless man noticed something fishy on the beach.

SAN CLEMENTE, CA — The ocean waves were calm Sunday morning at a favorite San Clemente surf spot when a homeless man saved the day for a wayward shark.

The man was camping in a tent behind the facilities at T Street when he caught sight of a shark beached shoreline.

In a video, taken by Carson Grier, the unidentified homeless man ran out to the creature with a folding chair and tried to nudge the fish back into the water. When that didn't work, he made the judgment call to lift the 4-foot shark, believed to be a Mako shark, back into the waves where it then swam away.

Grier spoke with the man upon his return to his tent, according to the OC Register. The homeless man revealed that his name was Kyle.

"That wasn't Kyle's first time of saving a sea creature," Grier told the paper. He has helped a stingray with a hook in its mouth, that was in the middle of giving birth. He saw that creature safely back into the water, as well, they reported.

Last Friday, Orange County Sheriff's Department deputies enforced a city ordinance to relocate the homeless camping along North Beach.

According to Grier, Kyle was "testing the system" by remaining camped on the shoreline, but he also said San Clemente residents had been so hung up on negative interactions with the homeless, that it was necessary to show something positive.

Grier told the Register, he respected Kyle's humanity and was happy to share the video for all to see.
