Updated: San Clemente High School Cleared Following Bomb Threat

A bomb threat directed at San Clemente High School today prompted authorities to shelter students in place while explosives- sniffing dogs were used to sweep the campus.

Someone called sheriff’s dispatchers at 1:30 p.m., claiming there was a bomb on the school campus at 700 Avenida Pico, according to Orange County sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock.

Classes carried on as scheduled, but students were not allowed to leave the building while six bomb-sniffing dogs were used to check the campus for explosives, Hallock said.
