City Of San Clemente To Vote On New Coastal Resiliency Plan
San Clemente City Councilmembers will determine whether or not to adopt a Coastal Resiliency Plan at Tuesday's meeting.

SAN CLEMENTE, CA — After months of toil, tweaking and community input, the City of San Clemente is ready to vote on the adoption of a Coastal Resiliency Plan. The plan will be considered at a public hearing on Tuesday during the San Clemente City Council meeting.
The Coastal Resiliency Plan is designed to serve as a "near term and long-range planning and guidance document" to combat potential sea-level rise in the future, as well as its effects on San Clemente, according to a press statement released by the city. The plan builds on findings and recommendations found in the city's 2019 Sea Level Rise Vulnerability Assessment, and suggests a "phased approach" to bettering long-term coastal resiliency for the city as a whole.
The plan was initially presented to the city's Beaches, Parks and Recreation Commission in October. From there, it was considered by the city's Planning Commission in November.
