CRE8 Gallery Grand Opening at Clarence Lobo Elementary School

"Walk Through Mondrian" Gallery Grand Opening

Clarence Lobo Elementary School's CRE8 Program has generated an impressive collection of art during the 2013-2014 school year. Every student has produced an art work in the style of some of the world's renowned artists: Alexander Calder, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Maxfield Parrish, just to name a few.

The highlight of the evening exhibition will be a 'walk' through a massive canvas creation styled after Mondrian. Students' sketchbooks — given to each of the students in October 2013 thanks to a generous grant from Target, Inc., will grace the steps to the stage.

CRE8 is the vision of Lyn Hiner and Alura Aquilara, local artist and architect, respectively, who wanted to give children an opportunity to step away from academics, to be immersed each month in a creative environment.

The public is invited and admission is free. The evening will take on a carnival atmosphere, with face-painting, cotton candy, chalk drawing, and other activities under the auspices of the CRE8 Program and Clarence Lobo Elementary School PTA.
