CRIME REPORTS: July 4 Keeps Deputies Busy

These are selected reports from the San Clemente Police Services dispatch log throughout the past few days.

At 3:49 p.m. Thursday, deputies assisted an outside agency in the 600 block of Camino De Los Mares. According to the report, Secret Service agents responded to Trader Joe’s for a report of a counterfeit $100 bill. The bill was given to a cashier by a man in his mid 40s with short bleached hair and a black t-shirt. 

At 1:18 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a suspicious person in the 200 block of Pas Laro. The informant was reportedly disturbed by a man who was walking through their neighborhood and was peeping into multiple garages. 

At 3:18 a.m. Thursday, deputies responded to an unknown trouble report in the 700 block of Calle Puente. The report stated that a man was threatened by a subject in the street while smoking a cigarette on his front porch. The subject reportedly threatened to come into the man’s house a rape his wife. The informant them proceeded to punch the subject and knocked him out. The informant then had the subject laid out on his front porch. Firefighters were dispatched and police detained the informant who was armed with a gun and reported he experienced a laceration to the back of the head.

At 2:47 a.m. Thursday, a caller reported a fireworks violation in the 600 block of Calle Juarez. According to the report, 10 to 20 minors were being loud and were setting off fireworks. The minors took off and police proceeded on foot. There was no report of an arrest.

At 2:33 a.m. Thursday, deputies were called to investigate a person down near the Avenida Granada and El Camino Real intersection. The report stated that a drunk man was seen partially lying in the road. The man proceeded to head towards the pier once firefighters were dispatched.

At 1:00 a.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance near the West Avenida Palizada and Encino Lane intersection. The disturbance was regarding multiple people who were urinating in an area where a lot of parties were in progress. 

At 11:06 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the first block of Vista Encanta. According to the report, there was a loud party in progress with underage drinking. 

At 10:27 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 200 block of Avenida Del Poniente. The informant reportedly witnessed a man in his 20s shooting a rifle into the air from his balcony. 

At 10:08 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 200 block of Avenida Granada. According to the informant, a man was seen in a heated verbal argument with a woman as he proceeded to push and shove her into a backyard. 

At 9:38 p.m. Wednesday, deputies arrested a 24-year-old-man in the 200 block of El Camino Real. According to the report, the man had gotten into a fight outside of Dukes bar with four other men.
