Man Suspected Of Sexually Assaulting Autistic Man In South OC

Do you know this man? Orange County Sheriff's deputies are still seeking the identity of a man who sexually assaulted an autistic resident.

SAN CLEMENTE, CA — Earlier this year, an autistic man was using the restroom at the San Juan Capistrano Public Library when he was attacked by an unknown male, according to Orange County Sheriff's Department, San Clemente Police Services.

The attack happened in April 16, in the middle of the day, but the San Juan Capistrano Orange County Sheriff's Department deputies are still seeking their suspect.

According to OCSD reports, the suspect "assaulted the autistic man while he was using the restroom," then as the victim exited the restroom, the suspect followed him out, surveillance video shows.

The victim reported the crime to staff who then called the OCSD, they said.

The suspect is described as: male, 5'9", approximately 180-200 pounds, wearing blue jeans, black tennis shoes and a white long sleeve shirt with an American flag on the front.

"This is a moment you can come through for someone we should all be protecting," a sheriff's department spokesperson said.
