Wheeler North Reef: San Clemente’s Magnificent Rainforest of the Sea

Speakers Bob Grove, SCE ccientist and reef architect, and Bill Brookes, California State Parks Ranger and kelp expert, will speak about the Wheeler North Reef, a 174-acre artificial reef a mile off of San Clemente’s shoreline. The area is now home to a flourishing kelp forest and has become a favorite destination of fishing boats, divers, and tourists. Presented in conjunction with the Gone Fishin’ exhibition.
