Father Has Daughter Arrested For Taking the Family Car

At 4:25 a.m. Tuesday Oct. 8, a caller reported a disturbance in the 100 block of Calle Amistad. A man called deputies, claiming his 24-year-old daughter had taken the family car. The daughter of the informant had texted her father stating she would return the car in the morning, as she had retired to her home for the evening. The man told authorities that he wished to press charges against his daughter for taking the vehicle and the car keys. Deputies arrived at the daughter’s residence and arrested her. She has since been released from jail.

At 10:58 a.m. Tuesday Oct. 8, someone contacted deputies and reported a suspicious person near the cross streets of Avenida Acapulco and Avenida San Pablo. A homeless man had set up camp on a sofa that had been dropped off recently.

At 3:43 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 8, deputies received a call about a suspicious group in the 2900 block of Calle Grande Vista. A group of construction workers was parked in front of a residential home in a white pickup truck, drinking beers. The informant called back at 4:21 p.m. to report that the workers had become verbally angry when asked to leave.

At 3:53 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 9, someone reported a suspicious person in the 500 block of Avenida Buenos Aires. A person was soliciting door-to-door and asking for donations for an unknown cause.

These are selected reports from the San Clemente Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days. The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided.
