Fire Damages San Clemente Strip Mall

SAN CLEMENTE, CA Authorities are still investigating the cause of a two-alarm fire that broke out at a San Clemente stripmall Sunday night.

A fire alarm went off at a Flair Lighting just after 6 p.m. Sunday in the shopping center at the 1400 block North El Camino Real, said Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Larry Kurtz.

“The first units on scene reported heavy fire and smoke at the end shop,” Kurtz said.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to a single unit and got the fire under control as of 7:23 p.m.

“We are still working on the cause of the fire,” Kurtz said.

Authorities have not yet calculated the cost of damage from the blaze.
