Mandated Water Cut-Back in California

California's drought was declared a drought emergency in January 2014, and things have only gotten worse since then.

California’s drought was declared a drought emergency in January 2014, and things have only gotten worse since then. On April 1, Governor Jerry Brown announced a mandate that requires all California towns and cities to decrease their water use by a whopping 25% when compared with 2013 usage.

How do we do this? How do we cut down on our water usage? There are many things that you can do:

Many California water districts have water rebate programs that allow you to get a rebate on some of the cost of your irrigation materials and plants. This way you’re using less of California’s water and getting some money for doing so. It’s is a win-win situation. These programs are great to take advantage of while we are in this drought.
