Mission Viejo No. 2 in CIF-SS Football Coaches' Preseason Poll

Last season, when the CIF Southern Section preseason football coaches' poll was released, Mission Viejo was ranked No. 1 in the Pac-5 Division and Servite of Anaheim was No. 2.

The coaches were almost perfect in their prediction. The two met for the division championship at Angel Stadium, but .

Perhaps memories of that Dec. 15 game were still fresh in their minds when the coaches pulled a reverse and tabbed Servite the No. 1 team and the Diablos No. 2 in their 2011 preseason poll.

Mission Viejo fans, the gauntlet has been thrown down.

Here are the preseason polls for divisions in which Orange County Patch teams (in bold) play. The season begins Friday night, when Fountain Valley travels to Henderson, Nev., to play Green Valley. For everybody else, kickoff is Sept. 1-3.
