SAN CLEMENTE, CA — What is it about a stroll on the shore in the early morning hours? That salty cool air on your face and the feel of the sand between your toes is good for the soul. This week in San Clemente, a dense marine layer has draped the coastline. Patch reader Terry Robinson shared this gorgeous shot taken Tuesday morning.

Residents of San Clemente love to share information and history of their town. Here is a gem about the rocks that appear and disappear along the shoreline, courtesy of Robinson.

"In case you're not be familiar with San Clemente, these rocks (pictured) are buried under sand most of the year," Robinson told Patch. "They become exposed during minus tides, but not always then."

Notice the broad expanse of beach? You might visit San Clemente at a different season and see something completely different, Robinson says.

"There are many more buried rocks that are not exposed in this photo....they remain buried waiting for even more sand to wash away and an even lower minus tide."
