SURF REPORT: Lousy Waves

It's very marginal out there!

Waking up with the waves on Monday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your San Clemente Patch surf report.

Well, unfortunately she just can't seem to snap out of this super small spell.  Yep, there's not much happening along this stretch of coast.

It's starting off mostly clean, but some spots are already seeing some texture on the surface.  We've got a minimal mix of remnant northwest swell and a little southwesterly energy in the water.

That recipe is offering some crumbly and weak lines, with a few workable ones.  You'll definitely want to break out a log if you're planning on paddling.  Most spots in San Clemente are running about ankle- to knee-high, with the standout breaks pulling an occasional plus set.

At 5:40 this morning the tide climbed way up to a 5.5 high which will have some spots a bit full or even shut down early on on.  The tide then drains out to a negative 0.6 low at 1:07 this afternoon.

If you're in need of a salt water bath, then throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit and maybe the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 57 and 58 degrees.  Good luck out there!!
