Need A Housing Rehab Loan? San Clemente Can Help
San Clemente Homeowners are encouraged to apply for 0% deferred loans through the housing rehabilitation program.

SAN CLEMENTE, CA — Is your home in need of repairs, painting, or maybe you need to upgrade your old heater and windows with new energy efficient ones? These improvements, and others are eligible through this City of San Clemente Housing Rehabilitation program.
The City of San Clemente encourages homeowners to apply for funds if you meet the criteria below.
"This program is now offering zero percent deferred loans up to $25,000 for owner occupied single family homes and $15,000 for mobile homes," Amber Gregg, San Clemente City Planner said.

These loans do not have to be paid off until you sell the home, transfer title, refinance or no longer reside in the home, according to Gregg.
"In order to qualify you must meet the income limits provided below for the previous two years, have sufficient equity in your home, along with other qualifications," Gregg said.

Rental property owners are eligible for a zero percent deferred loan with 50-50 matching funds, and are forgivable over 5 years. A minimum of 51 percent of renter households must qualify as low income and rents cannot exceed the fair market rents as determined by HUD.
Grants of up to $10,000 for owner occupied homes or $5,000 for mobile homeowners are available for health and safety items or handicapped improvements, if the household income is 50 percent or below of the median income.
