One Drops Out of Race for San Clemente City Council
Fred Olsen says an "unforeseen personal issue" has prompted him to take his name off the table, but it will still appear on the ballot.
Candidate Fred Olsen has dropped out of the race for San Clemente City Council, City Clerk Joanne Baade announced today.
Olsen wrote in a letter dated Tuesday that he must drop out ”due to an unforeseen personal issue.”
Baade said even though he does not intend to pursue his candidacy, it is too late for him to withdraw his name from the ballot or to withdraw his candidate statement from the sample ballot.
