Pep Boys to Come to San Clemente

Manny, Moe and Jack are coming to San Clemente.

Discount Tire will soon become a Pep Boys, the latter company announced today. In all, the Philadelphia chain of auto parts stores purchased 17 outlets from Discount Tire’s  lineup of 55 Southern California locations.

Parent company AKH Company, Inc. is based in Anaheim. The sale also includes three other Orange County stores, in Santa Ana, Costa Mesa and Orange.

“Now we have nearly 150 locations in California, where we have served customers since 1933,” said Joe Cirelli, senior vice president for business development, in a press release. There are more than 750 Pep Boys nationwide. “We look forward to continued growth.”

Re-opening under the new brand is expected Sept. 12.
