Rooster Is On The Mend Thanks To Pacific Marine Mammal Center

This sweet girl was found on the shore of San Clemente with a fish hook embedded near her eye. Now, thanks to helping hands, she is healing.

SAN CLEMENTE, CA β€” This sweet sea lion, now known as Rooster, was recently discovered in San Clemente with a fish hook embedded near her lower eyelid. The folks at Pacific Marine Mammal Center have worked their magic, and she is much improved as of Thursday, they reported.

"Luckily the hook barely missed the eye and the team at Pacific Marine Mammal Center, along with their resident veterinarian, were able to successfully remove the hook," Krysta Higuchi, spokesperson for PMMC told Patch.

Rooster, as she is affectionately known, is now resting on her way to recovery, with no significant injury from the hook!
