To honor our veterans, on Saturday, November 7, the City of Novato and the Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise will host the third annual “Conversations with Veterans” forum, from 9:00-10:30 am, via Zoom. In honor of Veterans Day, the audience will hear from and converse with Veterans about their own military experiences and the related responsibility of civilians to support the service of our Veterans.

“Conversations” brings together Novato resident and Marine Veteran Gene McCandless, who will discuss his Vietnam experiences with fellow Marine John Musgrave, poet and writer, who was interviewed extensively in the Burns/Novick PBS Series on Vietnam. Army COL (Ret) Steve Miska, a resident of San Clemente and Executive Director of First Amendment Voice will discuss his three combat tours to Iraq and the importance of retaining the experiences of Veterans through oral histories and literature.

Novato Mayor Denise Athas and former Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise President Sylvia Barry will co-host, and Gil Sanborn, Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army, will serve as Moderator
