BEACH TRAIL BRIDGE RE-OPENING
6/24/2020…San Clemente, California… A significant landslide damaged a portion of the Beach Trail bridge at Mariposa Point late last year, which required that section to be closed. The City evaluated the damaged portions, cleared some landslide material, and made some temporary repairs to allow this section to be re-opened while the design and permitting for a permanent replacement project is completed. The Mariposa Point Beach Trail bridge will re- open Thursday morning, June 25, 2020. Trail users are advised to use caution and watch for rocks and debris which may fall from the adjacent steep bluffs. A project to replace the damaged and other bridge sections is planned for 2021. To report landslide or other trail maintenance issues, please call the City’s Public Works Maintenance Division hotline at (949) 361-8317.
