San Clemente Beaches Open For Passive Use

6/11/2020…San Clemente, California… On Friday, June 12, Governor Newsom, and the California Department of Public Health authorized the state to transition into Stage 3 of the State’s Resilience Roadmap. Coinciding with this move, the Orange County Health Care Agency authorized Orange County cities to grant greater access to businesses, services, and public spaces.

Consistent with the State-approved beach reopening plan, on Friday, June 12, 2020 all San Clemente city-operated beaches will open for passive as well as active use. City beaches will be open 7 days per week, 4 a.m. to 12 midnight. Play structures and the fire rings located on the beachfront will remain closed. Beach goers are required to adhere to physical distancing guidelines and should wear face coverings. Frequent handwashing is strongly recommended; individuals who are not feeling well are asked to stay home.

Additionally, the San Clemente Municipal Pier will reopen for passive use, including fishing and leisure. Users must follow social distancing guidelines, should wear face coverings, and maintain a six-foot separation from people who are not part of their households.
