FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
10/5/2020
San Clemente, California…Street sweeping parking enforcement was temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 Stay at Home order. Due to the additional parking on City streets, the street sweeping crews were not able to be as effective as they normally would be. This has resulted in an accumulation of leaves and other debris on City streets, with the potential to enter the storm drain system which drains directly to the ocean.

As more businesses and activities open in Orange County and San Clemente, more residents are returning to work. Beginning October 22, 2020, enforcement for street sweeping violations will begin. Throughout September, the City started providing warning notices to inform the public that the City was resuming enforcement.
