San Clemente Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Sexually Assaulting Boy

Reed, a resident of San Clemente for 50 years, may have assaulted others. OCSD and Special Victims Detail officers are looking for victims.

SAN CLEMENTE, CA β€” It began with inappropriate online texting, and ended with an arrest of a 50-year-old San Clemente man. On Thursday, Orange County Sheriff's Department investigators arrested Christian Reed on suspicion of sexually assaulting a boy under age 18 and furnishing the minor with marijuana and controlled substances.

"In late March 2017, an investigator with the OCSD Special Victims Detail assigned to the Orange County Child Exploitation Task Force was contacted regarding a male juvenile victim who was having inappropriate conversations with a male online," OCSD Lt. Lane Lagaret said in media release.

Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s Special Victims Detail (SVD) and the Orange County Child Exploitation Task Force (OCCETF) assisted with the investigations that began on March 24, and ended with a search warrant served at Reed's San Clemente residence.

There was no mention on what specifically was found inside Reed's residence as of this report.

Reed was arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail on suspicion of five felonies, including furnishing marijuana and controlled substances to a minor and annoying a child under 18, Lagaret said in release. Reed’s bail is set at $50,000, and he is expected to appear in court Friday, May 5.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims.

"Reed has been a resident of San Clemente for nearly 50 years," Lagaret said. "Investigators believe he has had inappropriate contact with teenage boys since the 1980s."
