UPDATED STATE AND COUNTY ORDERS IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19
7/1/2020…San Clemente, CA…The State of California and the County of Orange have announced modifications that impact the reopening of some businesses and public places. Due to the increase in COVID-19 positive case counts, the County of Orange is one of 19 counties being monitored by the California Department of Public Health. At a press conference on July 1, 2020, Governor Newsom announced that these 19 counties are required to take additional precautions to slow the spread of COVID-19. These additional requirements are addressed in the State’s Guidance on Closure of Sectors in Response to COVID-19. The State is requiring that businesses in the following sectors cease indoor service to customers for a minimum of three weeks, beginning July 2, 2020:
- Restaurants
- Wineries & tasting rooms
- Movie Theaters
- Family Entertainment Centers
- Zoos and Museums
- Cardrooms
The Governor also announced that the parking lots for state beaches, including San Clemente State Beach, will be closed during the holiday weekend (July 3-5) to reduce crowding at these locations. Additionally, the County of Orange issued a press release today, which details an update to the Health Officer’s Amended Order and Strong Recommendations. Notably, the County provided direction to close all bars in Orange County effective July 2, 2020. It also addresses other items such as social distancing, face coverings, self-quarantine, and business reopening requirements.
