ORANGE COUNTY, CA — An Orange County man who went missing last Thursday after he got turned around while driving home on the Interstate 5 and ended up in Mexico was found over the weekend, Orange County Sheriff's Department reported.

A silver alert was issued Thursday for 84-year-old Robert Francis Novak. United States Border Patrol authorities said Novak crossed the San Ysidro border into Mexico at 7:30 a.m. Thursday morning. His last known location was in Tecate, Mexico. Novak has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and has the early appearance of dementia, OCSD reported.

Reportedly, Novak was coming home from a doctors appointment Wednesday evening when he "disoriented and continued to drive southbound on the 5 freeway," authorities reported on Facebook. Novak was on the phone with his wife all night but was unable to find his way back to his home.
