San Clemente Surf Soccer Club Donates 600 Stockings to Military for Holidays

San Clemente Surf Soccer Club's Military Stocking Care Package Project was a huge success! The Club met at Tierra Grande Park on 11/7 to collect and pack over 600 stockings that were donated to partner organization Words of Comfort, Hope, and Promise, and will be sent to our military all over the world.

This year, our stockings will be given to Marines from the Amphibious Assault Battalion, Marines and Sailors serving their third tour in Okinawa, Marines from 3rd Tracks, Navy Seals, and Marines serving in Syria. They will also be going to the Air Force, and wounded warriors based at Camp Pendleton.

The impact these gifts have for our heroes is amazing. Cynthia Martinez, the President of Words of Comfort, Hope, and Promise, told us that the stockings are great for increasing morale. While fighting overseas, goodies from home are “like gold” and with the letters written, let our military know they are supported from back home.

The event ended with SC Surf being awarded a Certificate of Appreciation Words of Comfort, Hope, and Promise for our support to those who serve in our Military.

Players of all ages enjoy making the stockings and it is great to see how much of an impact we can make when we work together! One Town, One Club!
