Special Rotary Club Award Presented to OC Resident Don Glasgow

The Annual Non-Rotarian Citizen of the Year Award is presented to a non-Rotarian who exemplifies Rotary's principals and code of ethics.

Don Glasgow lives in San Clemente. When the San Clemente Sunrise Rotary Club members first met Don, he was single handedly collecting golfing equipment for recovering Camp Pendleton Marines who had been wounded. He collected, cleaned, and distributed over 600 sets of golf clubs, not to mention the 35,000 golf balls he persona;y washed anadded.

He has, to date, collected over 10,000 pairs of shoes and 200 bicycles for our neighbors in Mexico.

One of the co-founders of Courtney's SandCastle sensory park in San Clemente, he also serves on the Fish for Life Board.

Nominated by the San Clemente Sunrise Rotary Club, Don accepted the award from District Governor Jim Paddock during a luncheon in Orange.
