SURF REPORT: Small to Playful-Sized Waves on Tap Monday

Knee- to waist-high waives with the occasional chest-high set.

Waking up with the waves on Monday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your San Clemente Patch surf report.

Well, we're seeing some small to playful-size energy along this stretch of sand. So, it might be worth grabbin' a quick session at some point during the day.

The conditions are looking nice and glassy from the start. As far as the surf goes, we have mostly some leftover south southwest swell and just a smidgen of northwest windswell in the water.

That recipe is offering this stretch of coast with some kinda crumbly, sectiony lines, with a few fast corners. Most spots in San Clemente are running about knee- to waist-high plus, with the standout south-facing breaks pulling some belly-high waves, with an occasional chest-high set.

Taking a look at the tides: At 8:50 this morning it climbs up to a 3.7 high and then drops to a 1.8 low at 1:32 this afternoon and then pushes up once again to a 6.7 high at 7:58 this evening.

If you're going to get wet, throw on more than a thin fullsuit for that morning session with the water temperature averaging between 62 and 64 degrees. Good luck out there!
