SUV Careens Through Neighborhood … On Wrong Side of the Road

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, a domestic dispute, a man refuses to leave, and a heated fight breaks out.

At 4:12 p.m. Friday Aug. 30, an informant told deputies about a reckless driver in the 100 block of La Placentia. A man in a white SUV was nearly careening into houses, driving on the wrong side of the road and speeding. The caller noted that a woman was climbing on the driver’s lap and grabbing the steering wheel, prompting suspicion that the duo was drunk. No arrest was made.

Also:

At 11:04 a.m. Friday Aug. 30, a concerned caller reported unknown trouble in the 200 block of Avenida Serra. A man and a woman were screaming at each other from inside their home. Deputies arrived and separated the two.

At 3:28 p.m. Friday Aug. 30, someone reported a suspicious person in the 500 block of El Camino Real. Two men, who were sitting on a bench outside a building, became verbal and angry when asked to get up and leave.

At 1:34 a.m. Saturday, a caller told deputies about a disturbance in the 100 block of Canada. The informant heard screaming as well as pots and pans being thrown inside a local residence.

These are selected reports from the San Clemente Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days. The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided.
