Arrest Made in Connection With Stabbing of Three Marines

SAN CLEMENTE, CA -- An arrest was made in connection with the stabbing of three Marines during a fight Saturday with some people in a parking lot in San Clemente. Alexis Moreno-Aguirre, 24, was booked into the Orange County jail on suspicion of attempted murder, sheriff's officials said.

Two men and a woman were detained in connection with the fight, said Jaimee Blashaw of the Orange County Sheriff's Department. The 24-year-old man was arrested.

The investigation continues.

The three Marines, two 21-year-old men and a 23-year-old man, were taken to an area hospital, Blashaw said. Their wounds were not believed life- threatening, but there was no update on their conditions.

The fight involving the two groups occurred a little after 1 a.m. in the 200 block of El Camino Real, she said.
