Thursday Surf Report

The small stuff continues!

Good Thursday morning, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your San Clemente Patch surf report.

Well, I wouldn't be disappointed if you can't get out there today. Yep, it's still on the small side just about everywhere.

The conditions are starting off mostly clean and glassy, with a minor dose of west northwest swell in the water. That recipe is offering some fairly weak and crumbly lines, with a few fast shoulders.

Most spots in San Clemente are hanging in the knee- to waist-high range, with the focal points pulling stomach-high waves, with maybe a couple chest-high sets.

Taking a look at the tides...

At 8:54 this morning it climbs way up to a 5.7 high which is going to have many spots pretty swamped or even shut off mid morning. Your best bet: wait for that tide to turn around and drop a bit.  It eventually drains out to a negative 0.6 low at 3:42 this afternoon.

If you're going to grab a session, throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit or the 4/3 and maybe the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 56 and 57 degrees.  See ya in the water!
