'Unique' Street Sweeper Fire In San Clemente Hosed Down By OCFA
While San Clemente residents slept through the night, the Orange County Fire Authority extinguished a street sweeper that caught on fire.

SAN CLEMENTE, CA — You've likely heard of dumpster fires, garage fires and car fires. Well, the Orange County Fire Authority has a new one for you: street sweeper fires. The OCFA reported Friday afternoon that firefighters responded to a report of a blazing street sweeper in San Clemente early that morning.
It is not yet clear where exactly in San Clemente the fire was located, nor is it clear why the fire started.

According to the OCFA, the burning street sweeper was parked on top of a hill early Friday morning while its flames spread to nearby palm trees. The driver of the street sweeper set the brake and went to alert nearby homeowners, the OCFA reported. Despite the break being set, the vehicle rolled down the hill for about 500 feet before crashing into a light pole.

Two engines showed up to the scene, and the blazing street sweeper was hosed down along with a palm tree that had caught fire up the hill.
