The civic industry and pride in the old school celebrations of the 4th of July in Orange county is heartening whether you just like nostalgia, have a renewed patriotism, or have a passing thought such as "That's cool."
The old Spanish-Mexican era towns, like Capistrano, may have seemed lackadaisical compared to the metropolitan frenzy of Santa Ana and Los Angeles, but pride and pageantry were not forgotten. While skyrockets and sparklers may have booming and glittering outside, the quiet remembrances of family and friends -- on picnic or buffet bbq - make us thankful for liberty.
