A Historical Depiction on a ... Storage Facility?
In San Juan Capistrano, we'll boast about our past anywhere.

In historical San Juan Capistrano, even the storage units get into the act.
A new storage facility, A-1 Storage, is planned for Valle Road, south of La Novia Avenue. The city has required it include a historical depiction of something from the city’s past, reflecting either the cultural, architectural, economic, historical and political heritage of the area.
The owners have chosen to focus on cattle grazing and are proposing a black, polished granite plaque with four historical photographs, including one of family members to former land baron Don Juan Forster.

“The Forster family, which was a prominent San Juan Capistrano land owner and operator of a cattle ranch for three generations, represents an appropriate and relevant historic subject,” said a city staff report to the Cultural Heritage Commission, which will consider the embellishment at its Tuesday meeting.
Staff does want the storage owners' to flesh out the details on the plaque just a bit more.
